Caloundra is located a little over an hour’s drive north of Brisbane’s CBD, its international airport and deep water port but is a world away from the congestion and pressures of big city life.

We have the full range of government, community, medical and professional services, a wide selection of private schools as well as government schools, a mulit-campus TAFE and the well-established University of the Sunshine Coast.

Most of the population of 90,000 lives within 5km of the sea but there are several very popular, thriving hinterland townships of which the best known are Maleny, Beerwah and Landsborough, which offer a more rural, community-based lifestyle.

There is a wide range of home location choices on the coastal strip, from traditional dwellings in quiet well-planned neighbourhoods, to high-rise units near the popular beaches, canal-front or golf course homes adjacent to very popular Pumistone Passage and the unique river-front homes on Kawana Island and the Mooloola River.

The sub-tropical climate enables year-round outdoor entertaining, sporting and recreational activities.  Al fresco dining at the many fine restaurants and casual eateries, weekend family barbecues in the park or simply walking on the beach are all very popular.  It is hard to beat fish and chips by the beach on a sunny winter’s afternoon.

Caloundra boasts some of the finest sporting facilities in Queensland, with the Quad Park Sporting Complex on Lake Kawana and the Indoor Sports Stadium in Central Caloundra. See www.quadpark.com.au

The Caloundra Cultural Centre is the largest indoor events centre on the Sunshine Coast, able to handle conferences of up to 900 delegates or fully catered Awards nights for 800 guests.  See www.caloundracentre.com.au

And of course we have the world famous Australia Zoo, the Glasshouse Mountains and many other attractions promoted through Caloundra Tourism.  See www.caloundratourism.com.au
